Transportation

Door to door bus service is available to members who live within the Village of Rockville Centre.              Nonresidents may leave their car at the John Anderson Recreation Center, 111 N. Oceanside Road and be transported to the Senior Center. Fee $1.

Transportation also may be arranged for local non-emergency medical appointments as well as a weekly supermarket trip on Tuesdays.  Fee: $2.

All transportation is arranged by telephone only.  Please call 766-1266 before 8:30 am on the day of the trip to reserve a ride. 

The phone will be answered by a machine.  Leave your name, address, phone number and request on the tape.  Calls will be returned before 9:15am.  You will be given a “pick up” time.  Generally there is a 15 minute “window” around that scheduled time. Every effort is made to accommodate member needs.

Members must be able to board the bus independently.  Walkers and wheelchairs can be accommodated.
