Village Infrastructure Update
Over the next several weeks – National Grid:
National Grid will continue gas main replacements on South Marion Place/Rutland Road area. (Starting Monday, June 8th)
National Grid will begin final pavement restoration in the Shellbank area.
National Grid will begin final pavement restoration on the North Long Beach Road.
Over the next several weeks – New York State Department of Transportation:
The NYSDOT will continue construction on a New York State project along Sunrise Highway. This work will include ADA ramp replacements, traffic signal loop replacements, crosswalk improvements, and a full mill and paving of the roadway.
Over the next two weeks – Village Projects:
The Village contractor will continue work on the Reverend Days Basketball Courts starting Monday, June 8th. This work will consist of grading, and asphalt placement.
The Village’s Parking Field #9 Electric infrastructure Project will continue in Parking Field #9 (behind Tap Room).
The Village’s Donald Browne Path reconstruction will continue at Hempstead Lake Park along Peninsula Boulevard with punch list items. Sections of the path may be open during this time.
The Village’s Water Main Replacement Program will continue in the Cleveland/Driscoll Area with Main replacement and service transfers.
Residents may experience temporary traffic delays, detours, and minor disruptions in these areas. Please use caution when traveling and follow all posted signage.
As always, all work is weather-dependent. The Village will continue to provide updates and notify residents whenever possible as work progresses.
