Village Infrastructure Update 6/26/26

The Village would like to inform residents of several infrastructure projects taking place over the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience as this important work is completed to improve our community.

Village Infrastructure Update

Over the next several weeks – National Grid:

  • National Grid will continue gas service transfers on South Marion Place/Rutland Road area.
  • National Grid will continue gas main work in the Terell Avenue area.
  • National Grid will begin final pavement restoration on the North Long Beach Road (Nassau County), July 6th. This will be night work beginning @ 8:30pm to 4:30am.


Over the next several weeks – New York State Department of Transportation:

  • The NYSDOT will continue construction on a New York State project along Sunrise Highway. This work will include ADA ramp replacements, traffic signal loop replacements, crosswalk improvements, and a full mill and paving of the roadway.


Over the next two weeks – Village Projects:

  • The Village contractor will continue work on the Reverend Days Basketball Courts. This work will consist of gate installation and color coding.
  • The Village’s Parking Field #9 Electric infrastructure Project will continue in Parking Field #9 (behind Tap Room).
  • The Village’s Water Main Replacement Program will continue in the Cleveland/Driscoll Area with and water service transfers.
  • The Road Program will begin to mobilize the week of July 6th in the Knollwood Area and begin construction thereafter.
    This work will consist of drainage structure repairs/installation, concrete replacements, and full road restoration.
    You will be notified accordingly.

Residents may experience temporary traffic delays, detours, and minor disruptions in these areas. Please use caution when traveling and follow all posted signage.

As always, all work is weather-dependent. The Village will continue to provide updates and notify residents whenever possible as work progresses.
