The RCPD is asking the public who require police assistance to please be transparent and as descriptive as possible about the health of anyone at the location where a response is being requested.  The health of our police officers is paramount to allowing the department to continue delivering the highest level of quality service and swift response times residents are accustomed to during these difficult times.

Additionally, if you have a non-emergency matter with RCPD, please call headquarters at (516)766-1500 in lieu of walking into the station house as the department may be able to provide services remotely or have an officer come directly to you

Important Message Regarding our Sewer System
With toilet paper hard to come by, it has been reported some folks are running out and using what they can to cleanse themselves.  Some wipes advertised as being "flushable" or "biodegradable" are in fact not.
Wipes can wreak havoc on pipes and clog them up, which could cost an unfortunate homeowner hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to get cleared.  It also threatens the pumps used in the treatment process.  That also goes for paper towels, tissues, and napkins.
The Village sewer system is seeing an increase in volume, which was expected given the number of people staying in their homes as part of efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus.  We urge all residents to think twice before flushing other materials down their commodes.  Please help us to protect our workers and sewer systems.

Sanitation and Recycling
As of now, we are following the normal sanitation and recycling schedule, including bulk pick-up on Wednesday.
Please be advised, E-Cycling and the opening of the Transfer station will resume on Saturday, June 6th from 10am -  2pm .
Please be sure to properly dispose of gloves and masks.  Do not leave them on the ground and make sure that your garbage is securely closed to protect our sanitation workers as well as each other.

Sandel Center:

Update on closing of the Recreation Center:
Effective March 16th, the Village of Rockville Centre has suspended all programs at the John A. Anderson Center and closed all facilities to the general public, including the outdoor basketball courts and playgrounds until further notice.  We will be in continued contact with public health officials to evaluate our facilities, activities and programs beyond this timeline.

Since we were unable to complete the Winter 2020 session, we will be issuing a credit for cancelled classes to your household account on RecDesk. We will continue to send email updates as we receive further information regarding our status.
If you have any further questions please email the Superintendent, Ginger Creegan at gcreegan@rvcny.us

SUMMER PROGRAM REGISTRATION: On-line registration for Summer Playground, Summer Nursery and KinderCamp and other activities is on-going on RecDesk.  We continue to waive the 3% convenience fee for credit card purchases during the period of time during which the office is closed.
SUMMER BASKETBALL AND SOFTBALL: Interested in registering a team for Softball or Basketball Leagues? Contact Troy at THassler@rvcny.us. The Spring Softball League has been cancelled.
ACCOUNT INFORMATION: We ask your indulgence in remaining patient during this time of uncertainty.  Any credits/refunds/makeups cannot be determined until we know if and when our activities and programs for which our clients have pre-paid will resume. At that point, our staff will work diligently and quickly to reconcile every account.
We understand and recognize the importance of the service we provide and the impact of our closing on your daily lives.  We miss you just as much as you miss us!  We will be back in business as soon as it is safe and prudent to do so. Our Village leaders are coordinating all action based upon guidance from public health and emergency management officials.
Please contact the Recreation Superintendent, Ginger Creegan, with your concerns and questions at GCreegan@rvcny.us.
